Hello! My name is Dr Amanda Lucero and I am a licensed naturopathic doctor (ND) in the state of Utah. I received my 4 year medical degree from Bastyr University, a globally respected institution for natural health. My path to a medical career began in the late 1990’s, when I worked in the fitness industry as an instructor and group exercise coordinator. In 2004 I became certified through the Ellie Herman Studios in the Pilates method of physical conditioning, with an emphasis on rehabilitation from injuries and chronic pain.
During my years as a Pilates trainer, I witnessed my clients’ profound healing from conditions such as sciatica, unremitting pain, and even neuromuscular recovery from stroke. I was astounded by how a system of body-mind exercise could have such a therapeutic effect on people. It proved to me that if provoked in a positive and mindful way, the body has a powerful inherent ability to heal. Still, something was missing; I wanted to find a system of healing that covered more pathologies, one that looked to the biochemical and even spiritual roots of these conditions. I was searching for something that (like myself) held a deep reverence for the natural world, relied heavily on research, but also respected the mysteries in life that science cannot always explain. It was then that I began to pursue an education in naturopathic medicine.
While obtaining a medical degree at Bastyr, I completed clinical rotations in the following areas:
Women’s Health
Cardiovascular Wellness and Diabetes Care
Pain Management
HIV and Immune Wellness
Integrative Cancer Care
Pediatrics
I hold additional training in the following modalities/conditions:
Intravenous Nutrient Therapy
Hormone Replacement Therapy
Ozone Therapy
Prolozone Therapy
Global Medicine (through medical outreach in Haiti)
Craniosacral Therapy
When not practicing medicine, I can be found spending time with my family, skiing, enjoying live music, and collecting vintage clothing.
